Special Education Coordinator for Meeker & Wright Special Education Cooperative (MAWSECO) #938

Ongoing position to start July 1, 2022: serving the Maple Lake school district, #0881 and responsibilities for Part C Early Childhood Special Ed.

Responsibilities:

The Special Education Coordinator develops and coordinates the Cooperative and district child study system to assure all students with disabilities are served appropriately.  This includes assisting with staff recruitment, monitoring compliance of due process procedures, staff orientation and staff development, curriculum and program design and implementation, management functions related to assigned districts, activities and staff.  Staff includes teachers and assistants and other related and support service personnel as assigned.

Requirements:

Administrative Licensure and preferred experience in Early Childhood Special Education.

Accountant for Meeker & Wright Special Education Cooperative (MAWSECO) #938

Ongoing, 32 hour/week, position to start February 1, 2022

Job Description and Details:

The Accountant is responsible for, but not limited to, payroll processing and related duties, processing Cooperative accounts receivables and accounts payable, salary lane changes, maintenance of fixed assets, billing processing for self-contained programs of the cooperative, assists in the preparation and serving of lease agreements, service agreements, residential educational and technical service agreements and providing exceptional customer service to the department’s internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: AA Degree program in Accounting, Business, Finance or closely related area OR minimum of 3 years of payroll, finance, and accounting/bookkeeping experience.
  • MN driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
  • Understanding of payroll, benefits, tax reporting, accounting and bookkeeping functions, procedures, and practices of the Cooperative as it pertains to payroll, accounts receivables, accounts payable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Understanding of laws, rules, regulations, and requirements pertaining to areas of payroll and accounting responsibility.

Salary:  Competitive salary and benefits package dependent on experience. Benefits include, but are not limited to: contributions toward single/family health, and dental insurance; paid life insurance; long term disability insurance; paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave  (32 hour/week position)

2.0 FTE Positions for the 2022-2023 school year

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

  • Conducts individual psychological assessments and evaluate students for special education needs
  • Shares evaluation information with parents, school personnel, and other agencies and makes program recommendations for students
  • Works with team members on the planning and implementation of intervention strategies
  • Contributes actively as an integral member of the assessment team
  • Collaborates and work with other school psychologists within MAWSECO
  • Cooperatively develops, implements and monitors individual plans and programs for specific students as well as provides staff and parent consultation and training on implementation of individualized plans
  • Facilitates communication between administrators, teachers and parents regarding student needs
  • Promotes and maintains high safety, ethical and confidentiality standards
  • Adheres to due process law 
  • Develops and provides professional development for member districts and MAWSECO special education programs

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota as a School Psychologist 
  • School Psychologist Interns are encouraged to apply

Educational Interpreter for deaf/hard of hearing, in Howard Lake MN for Meeker and Wright Special Education Cooperative #0938-52

 Location: MAWSECO Education Center in Howard Lake, MN

 Position: Meeker & Wright Special Education Cooperative is seeking an individual to facilitate communication in the educational environment for a student who is deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) including teacher communication to student, student to teacher, student to student, presentations, lunch, recess, etc. This is a one-to-one student assignment.

 Requirements: Those with ASL knowledge and/or formal training highly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience as a teacher’s assistant in a teaching environment in or outside a school system or related childcare work will receive preference.

 Desirable Qualifications/Skills: Associates Degree in Education or Related Field preferred. Experience working with students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) with varying communication needs within the public school setting. Documentation of performance at the intermediate level or above on the SLPI Language Rating Scales, or ability to attain this qualification preferred. Specialized training or the willingness to participate in training in the use of assistive devices, amplification, and language facilitation techniques. Understanding of the English language, especially grammar. Expressive and receptive ASL. Competency in establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with teachers, staff, students, parents, and community.

Description:  The Special Education Paraprofessional works with students assigned to the special education program or service, under the direction of the licensed staff and performs duties to support the program in general.

Background Information: The Eastern Wright Program is self-contained elementary program (grades 6-8) which enrolls students from several districts and is multi-agency in nature. The Eastern Wright Program is part of the Meeker & Wright Special Education Cooperative (MAWSECO) #938.  The MAWSECO central office is located in Howard Lake, MN which is west of the metro and south of St. Cloud.

Depending on student needs, responsibilities and duties may involve assisting and guiding students daily living skills, implementing behavior plans and /or monitoring and enforcing appropriate skills in accordance with instructional lesson plans and student Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
