Special Education Advisory Council
What is SEAC?
SEAC (pronounced “seek”) is an acronym for Special Education Advisory Council. Minnesota Statute 125A.24 requires that each school district in the state have a SEAC to advise and advocate for students with disabilities.
Who is part of SEAC?
Parents of students with disabilities and educators from the public school as well as a representative from the private school in the area.
MAWSECO's SEAC Mission:
"Represent the interest of district learners with disabilities, ages birth through 21, by advising cooperative and member district leadership on current issues, program development, parental concerns and parental involvement, serving as an advocate for high-quality special education programs, and promoting communication and understanding between family, school, and community."
Meeting Schedule:
SEAC meets quarterly virtually via Google Meet from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
