Special Education Advisory Council

What is SEAC?
SEAC (pronounced “seek”) is an acronym for Special Education Advisory Council. Minnesota Statute 125A.24 requires that each school district in the state have a SEAC to advise and advocate for students with disabilities. 

Who is involved in SEAC?
Parents of students with disabilities and educators from the public school as well as a representative from the private school in the area.

Purpose of MAWSECO SEAC:
To intentionally solicit feedback and gain insight from parents and guardians of students with special needs across MAWSECO’s seven member districts and use this information to improve our support for students with disabilities ranging from birth through age 22. 

Meeting Schedule:
SEAC meets quarterly virtually via Google Meet from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
